Legal
Terms of Use
The agreement between you and us when you download or buy Ledge. We have tried to write it so that reading it is actually possible.
1. The licence you get
Buying Ledge grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the application. The licence is active on one Mac at a time. You may move it between your own Macs as often as you like.
You may not resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute Ledge or your licence key, and you may not attempt to circumvent licence checks or distribute modified copies of the application. We keep ownership of the software itself; you own your licence to use it and, of course, all of the data you put into it.
2. Every version is included
"Updates free forever" means what it says: your licence covers all future versions of Ledge at no extra cost. There is no upgrade fee and no subscription. If we ever release a separate product, that would be a separate purchase — but versions of Ledge are yours.
3. The trial
Ledge runs as a full, ungated 7-day trial. No card, no account. When the trial ends, Ledge stops capturing new items until you enter a licence key — but everything already in your history stays fully browsable and draggable. We do not hold your data hostage to make you buy.
4. Moving your licence between Macs
Two ways, both free and both without asking us:
- Press Deactivate in Settings on the Mac you are leaving, then activate on the new one.
- If the old Mac is gone, sold, or broken, release the licence from ledgemac.com/transfer. You confirm by email, so only the buyer can do it.
5. Payment and refunds
Card and PayPal orders are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. They are the seller for those transactions, they handle tax, and their terms apply to the sale itself. Bank transfers from Vietnam are handled through SePay with a VietQR code.
Refunds. The 7-day trial exists so you can find out whether Ledge suits you before paying. If you bought it and something is genuinely wrong, write to support@ledgemac.com and we will handle it case by case; card and PayPal refunds are processed back through Lemon Squeezy. A refunded licence is deactivated.
If your local consumer law grants you a stronger refund right than this section, that law wins. Nothing here removes rights you have by statute.
6. What you need to run it
Ledge requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. We support the current version of the app on macOS versions Apple still supports. If a future macOS release breaks something, we fix it in an update — which your licence already covers.
7. Your data is your responsibility
Ledge stores your clipboard history and Shelf items locally on your Mac, and we have no copy of them. That means we cannot restore anything for you if your disk fails, your Mac is lost, or you delete items yourself. Keep backups the way you would for any other data on your machine. If you enable iCloud sync, the data lives in your own iCloud account under Apple's terms.
8. Acceptable use
Use Ledge for lawful purposes. Do not use it to collect or store material you have no right to hold, and do not use it to capture other people's information without their knowledge on machines that are not yours.
9. Warranty and liability
Ledge is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will fit every particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Ledge is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations do not apply to you and you keep whatever rights your local law gives you.
10. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Ledge at any time; uninstalling ends the agreement. We may terminate a licence that is being redistributed, resold, or used to circumvent licence checks. If we do that other than for a genuine breach, we refund you.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the date at the top of this page changes and the current version is always the one published here. Changes are not retroactive: the terms you bought under continue to govern the licence you already hold.
12. Contact
Everything — questions, complaints, refund requests, licence problems — goes to support@ledgemac.com, where a human answers.
